Epilepsy management

Who is this course for?

This course is mandatory for staff supporting clients with an Epilepsy Management Plan.

What content does the course cover?

In this training session you will learn how to support a person living with epilepsy. This includes knowledge of:

Current definitions of epilepsy and the effects of epilepsy on the body
Recognising and responding to different types of seizures
Supporting people with epilepsy management plans including avoiding known triggers, lifestyle support, and identifying and minimising the risks associated with epilepsy
Medications as a treatment option
Providing epilepsy first aid.

Does the course have prerequisites or specific requirements?

The following must be completed before attending:

Medication practice assessment
