Who is this course for?
This course is recommended for CPA employees required to use key word sign (KWS) and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) with children or adults with communication difficulties.
What content does the course cover?
In this training session you will learn the principles of AAC and how to use KWS to communicate with people who have complex communication needs.
This includes:
- Discussing complex communication needs
- Principles of AAC and types of communicators
- Principles and benefits of KWS
- At least 80 interactive signs
- Vocabulary selection
- Practice using KWS.
After completing the training, you will be awarded a key word sign basic workshop certificate.
