Who is this course for?
This is mandatory training for Disability Support Practitioners, Managers and Program Coordinators in A&R, Lifestyles, Packforce and Youth Services, therapy staff working with hydrotherapy, as well as Nominated First Aid Officers at our sites.
It is a requirement that HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certification be renewed every 3 years. CPR certification is included in this training and must then be refreshed annually, by attending CPR Training. Employees using CPA arranged Healthcorp training (session times below) will have their Certificates uploaded into Workday by CPA.

You can also choose to make your own arrangements to attend a public course delivered by a different provider. If you choose a public course, CPA will reimburse the cost of the First Aid course and pay (base rate) for attendance time. You will be responsible for:
- Uploading the new First Aid/CPR Certificate to Workday
- Completing an Expense Reimbursement Petty Cash Claim and submitting it to your manager for approval
- Forwarding the approved claim form to Accounts Payable with your receipt.
CPA's preferred training providers are: · Healthcorp.com.au · Medilife.edu.au · Stjohn.org.au. The course must be accredited with the code HLTAID011.
What content does the course cover?
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills in providing first aid and basic life support until arrival of medical assistance. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision making and basic life support functions including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
This training is delivered by registered training organisation Healthcorp RTO 91222.
Does the course have prerequisites or specific requirements?
There are no prerequisites for the HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course.
Important Note: CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions. If you have concerns about this requirement please discuss with your manager in advance.
Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
