Prescribing Minor Home Modifications

What content does the course cover?  

The course objectives include gaining the following skills and understandings:

• NDIA operational guidelines for prescribing minor modifications  
• the difference between minor vs complex environmental modifications   
• Australian Standards, the Building Code of Australia and Liveable Housing Guidelines including how/when to deviate from these for an individual client   
• the process of assessment for minor home mods  
• how to take measurements for minor modifications   
• how to prescribe a ceiling track hoist   
• reports and documentation needed for minor modifications, including scope of works   
• apply learning using case studies   
• the range of frequently prescribed products including basins, tap ware, shower hoses, grab rails, and ramps

Note: Registration closes 1 week before the session.

Does the course have prerequisites or specific requirements? 

Please bring one client case study that involves a need around minor environmental modifications.
