What content does the course cover?
In this training session you will learn how to identify the early warning signs of and strategies to prevent; violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the clients you support.
This includes:
- Exploring the NDS Zero tolerance initiative which aims to reduce and eliminate incidences of abuse for people with disabilities
- Discussing what violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation may look like in disability services, including early warning signs
- The causes and risk factors of violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation including individual values and workplace culture
- How to protect clients from violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation
- How to respond to incidents of violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation
- Understanding your responsibilities around responding to and reporting incidents
