HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

This course is for Cerebral Palsy Alliance employees 

Who is this course for? 

This is mandatory training for Disability Support Practitioners, Managers and Program Coordinators in A&R, Lifestyles, Packforce and Youth Services, therapy staff working with hydrotherapy, as well as Nominated First Aid Officers at CPA sites. 
It is a requirement that HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification be renewed annually.  

What content does the course cover?  

This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines.  The comprehensive course training includes theory and practical training.
This training is delivered by registered training organisation Healthcorp RTO 91222.

Does the course have prerequisites or specific requirements?  

There are no prerequisites for the HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Important Note:  CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.  If you have concerns about this requirement please discuss with your manager in advance.  
Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
