This is mandatory training for Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists

What content does the course cover?
This training session includes hands-on application of skills in:
- Manual handling of clients, including screening and risk assessment
- Client manual handling assessment and identifying risks for clients and DSP’s
- Developing client manual handling plans
- Best practice client manual handling recommendations and assistive technology
- Communicating with clients and families about complex manual handling issues
Note: This training has physical demands. Please discuss any pre-existing injuries with your manager and facilitator before attending. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes
Does the course have prerequisites or specific requirements?
The following must be completed before attending:
- Moving people safely: manual handling learning bite (available through Learning Bites in your online learning system)
- Falls learning bite (available through Learning Bites in your online learning system)
- Read the client manual handling policy
