Who is this course and practice assessment for?
This assessment is for all CPA managers, Program Coordinators, Registered Nurses and DSPs in A&R, Lifestyles, Packforce who support clients with BGL monitoring and/or subcutaneous diabetic medication administration. This is a compulsory annual Practice Assessment.
Please Note: Managers will arrange with our Health Team for assessments to be conducted during August at your site by a CNS. The below sessions are for staff who were not able to attend the arranged CNS site visit.
What does the refresher involve?
The session is run by one of our Clinical Nurse Specialists in a simulated environment who will:
- Refresh key points covered in the diabetes practice alert
- Demonstrate the essential knowledge and practical skills required to complete the practice assessment
- Observe and assess you completing the practice assessment to demonstrate proficiency.
You will be assessed across a range of activities to safely support clients with BGL monitoring and/or subcutaneous diabetic medication administration, according to the practice assessment. This includes the assessor observing you undertaking various tasks, to assess your knowledge and skills.

Attendance type: In person (face to face)
Duration: Approx 2 hours. Please arrive 15mins prior and wait for the facilitator.
