What content does the course cover?

In this course, you will explore various scenarios to consider the legal, ethical, and safety aspects of working with people from diverse backgrounds. It will provide you with an opportunity to reflect on your own values and perspectives on diversity.
By taking this course, you will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to work respectfully with individuals from diverse social and cultural groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Throughout the learning experience, you will cover a wide range of information about diversity, enabling you to:

Examine your own viewpoints and acknowledge any biases or prejudices you may hold, understanding how they can impact your interactions with individuals from different backgrounds.
Develop an understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusiveness in various settings, such as society, culture, and the workplace, and appreciate why they are significant.
Acquire effective communication skills to engage respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds. This includes understanding and adapting to various communication styles, norms, and non-verbal cues. You will practise active listening, empathy, and cultural sensitivity when interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.

Course completion requires:

Successful completion of the compulsory online quiz included at the end of the course.

Certification:

Once successfully completed, learners will be issued with a digital certificate of completion.
