Why choose this course?

This course is designed for disability support practitioners and health professionals in disability to develop knowledge about nutrition risks faced by people with disability and when to refer to or seek advice from a dietitian or other professionals. 

What content does the course cover?

This course covers the requirements under WHS Regulation 2011 and includes:

  • Learn how nutrition affects the health and well-being of people with disabilities, including their specific nutritional needs and challenges.
  • Understand the factors that contribute to nutrition risks for people with disabilities, such as physical limitations and medication interactions. They will also learn about common nutritional deficiencies and the impact of inadequate nutrition. 
  • Learn to promote a balanced and nutritious diet tailored to the needs and abilities of individuals with disabilities. 
  • Gain an understanding of the responsibilities of a dietitian in providing nutrition care for individuals with disabilities

Course completion requires: 

Successful completion of the compulsory quizzes included throughout the learning.

Certification: 

Once successfully completed, learners will be issued with a digital certificate of completion
