This face-to-face course is a compulsory induction activity for all disability support practitioners and managers. It is part of a blended training program with prerequisite virtual learning.
What content does the program cover?
This practical workshop includes hands-on application of skills relevant to disability support roles. The course content covers the following areas:
- Infection Prevention and Control
- Medication
- Epilepsy
This face to face workshop supports the learning from both online and virtual learning listed in the prerequisites below.
Does the program have any prerequisites?
The following learning courses must be completed prior to attending this course:
- Assist with medication - online
- Infection prevention and control - online
Employees must also have read the CPA Infection Prevention and Control, Medication and Epilepsy policies available on the HUB in the policy library.
This course is a pre-requisite to all other client health care courses.
Course completion requires:
Completion of the two (2) online modules, pre reading of relevant CPA policies and participation in all practical activities demonstrated during the workshop including: infection prevention and control, medication safety, and epilepsy first aid.
