This is mandatory training for the Disability Support workforce.

What content does the course cover?  

In this training session you will learn how to assist clients with Complex Bowel Care Management Plans.
This includes:

  • Understanding how the digestive system works
  • The connection between nutrition, bowel health and general health
  • Ways to promote good bowel health for clients
  • Recognising bowel health problems for clients
  • Managing bowel health problems for clients
  • Safely assisting clients with their prescribed per rectal medications.

Does the course have prerequisites or specific requirements? 

The following must be completed before attending:

  • Assist with medication - online
  • Infection prevention and control - online
  • Disability support practice workshop.
