This is mandatory training for Occupational therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists and Behaviour Support Specialists.

What content does the course cover?  

In this training session you will learn about the client journey at Cerebral Palsy Alliance including client engagement, goal setting, assessment, intervention planning and evaluation.
This includes:

  • Understanding the importance of client and family engagement and using strategies to promote effective engagement
  • Using a range of goal setting tools for a specific caseload
  • Identifying SMART and GAS goals relevant to a specific caseload
  • Using appropriate assessments based on client/family goals
  • Developing service and intervention plans using and evidence-based practice framework
  • Selecting relevant outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of intervention.

Does the course have prerequisites or specific requirements? 

The following must be completed before attending:

  • Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) training - online
