Why choose this course?

A greater emphasis is now placed on the home and other natural environments as a mode for providing therapeutic interventions, since adoption of family-centred practice. Home programs have become a key strategy for delivering therapy services and are an essential part of delivery of interventions in the disability sector.

This course is a compulsory induction activity for allied health and family support staff within CPA's Therapy Services. It is important for all allied health professionals to understand the benefits of delivering therapy interventions using home programs and the factors that influence a successful home program.

In this workshop, participants will: What content does the program cover?

  • gain an awareness of the evidence base for how home programs are provided  
  • gain an awareness of the factors that influence best-practice home programs 
  • have opportunities to practice using strategies for implementing effective home programs in clinical practice based on individual case studies

Does the program have any prerequisites?

Participants are sent pre-reading prior to the workshop which you are required to read before the workshop. 

Participants are required to bring a home program with them (if available) that they have developed for one of their current clients on their caseload.
