An introduction to assistive technology for university students and new graduates

This course will provide participants with an overview of assistive technology assessment and intervention options. The principles of the SETT framework will be explained to assist in completing a technology assessment. Participants will learn about direct and indirect access methods.
Assistive technology options will include switches, speech generating devices, software and environmental control systems.

Seating and positioning for university students and new graduates

This course aims to provide participants with an overview of approaches to seating and positioning assessment and intervention. Participants will learn how to complete a postural assessment including learning about key anatomical areas for seating and specific terms to describe postural asymmetry. They will learn the components of assessment and how this leads into prescription of postural supports. This includes a hands-on workshop and is facilitated by specialist seating consultants.
