This online module is Part 1 of a compulsory induction course for employees working directly with clients of all ages and can be accessed via the Online Learning System.

Employees who work directly with clients must also enrol in Part 2 - Preventing and responding to abuse, assault and risk of harm face to face workshop with this online learning as a prerequisite.

What content does the program cover?

This online course is an introduction to the topics and equips participants to:

  • Gain an understanding of the issues associated with assault, abuse and risk of harm
  • Ensure appropriate responses to assault and abuse.
  • Consider the particular vulnerabilities that can exist for individuals with disability.
  • To identify legislative requirements and organisational policy and procedures in relation to disclosure of assault or abuse or at risk of harm for people with disability.

Successful completion of the compulsory online quizzes included throughout the course..
