Why choose this course?

This two (2) day course is designed to assist therapists to coordinate their knowledge about movement disorders and associated conditions with goal setting, assessment, service planning and evaluation.
At the completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • choose appropriate assessments based on established client/family goals.
  • use sound clinical reasoning to assess clients with movement disorders and other associated conditions.
  • develop and implement an intervention plan and evaluate outcomes.
  • develop effective service plans with clients/families.

This is a compulsory induction activity for Cerebral Palsy Alliance allied health staff who have completed their 6 month qualifying period, including all training requirements.

What content does the program cover?

Pulling it all together will cover:

  • movement disorders and associated conditions.
  • goal setting and assessment.
  • planning interventions within an evidence based practice framework.
  • selecting and using relevant outcome measures

Does the program have any prerequisites?

This workshop involves pre-reading which is emailed to participants in advance.

Course completion requires:

This workshop includes informal assessment, which includes participants’ involvement in discussions and group activities.
